A Beautiful Day for a Walk
Finally, the time has come for the Auckland Big Dog Walk. The walk was originally supposed to take place earlier this month, but due to the unpredictable Auckland weather and relentless rain it was forced to be postponed and what a good decision that was. Today’s weather was perfect for The Big Dog Walk and we were guaranteed for no soggy dogs.
Every man and his dog
With the beautiful weather coming out it brought everyone out with it. There was so many people that made it to Waiatarua Reserve and not just dog owners. It was such a good turnout that it felt like every dog lover in Auckland had turned up to socialise and share their love for dogs and for the dogs to share their love for their humans.
Food, Music & doggie gifts
The day started with a dog walk around the Waiatarua Reserve, then they made their way up to the main green where there was various stalls from food/drink, doggie treats, bandana’s and much much more.
Competitions and Prizes
The Big Dog walk was sponsored by Omega plus, which meant lots of prizes and competitions to be won throughout the day. Some of the completions included the biggest dog, the smallest dog, the fluffiest dog and which dog looked most like their owner.
Until Next Year
This years Big Dog Walk was a great success and everybody enjoyed an awesome day. All the dogs had the time of their lives which you could tell by seeing the huge smiles that was plastered across their faces. I am looking forward to next year and hopefully more events like this pop up and bring the humans and dogs together for more fun filled days out.
